BEST FOODIE SPOTS IN CORNWALL

SLICE OF CORNWALL

This is the Fria chicken baya.

Slice is one of my favourite hidden gems. It’s my go to place when I want to go and eat out but also want to eat a little more healthily. You can find this on the back road between Falmouth and Gweek. Postcode: TR11 5QD. It’s a perfect little stop for breakfast/lunch on your way for a nice walk along the Helford or a visit to the Cornish Seal Sanctuary. The baya flatbreads are INSANE and I recommend them to everyone. There are plenty of vegetarian and vegan options too. They have a lovely little decking area where you can sit and eat in the summer with views over the trees. Their chai latte is also 10/10.

ICED ON THE QUAY

This is my absolute go to for a decent hot chocolate or dessert. This is found in Hayle on the north coast. Postcode: TR27 4BQ. I always have to stop here when passing by for either waffles, a hot chocolate or an ice cream sundae. I am a big fan of anything kinder and they make kinder waffles, kinder hot chocolates and even their fast selling kinder cruffins! If you are getting a cruffin I would recommend going in the morning as they sell out QUICK! If you don’t know what to order, I would recommend checking out their Instagram page and scanning out their items on there. They also keep their Instagram updated with their opening times and offers etc.

MACKEREL SKY SEAFOOD BAR

A lovely little seafood restaurant in Newlyn. Postcode: TR18 5PZ. They serve small tapas style plates so you can taste lots of everything. The fish is super fresh straight from Newlyn harbour. I have only been for lunch so unsure what the vibe is like in the evening. However, it was a beautiful place to sit in the sun to eat lunch.

WENDRON PANCAKE BARN

The best pancakes you’ll ever have. The choices are endless. You can choose from crepes, mini pancakes and waffles (I haven’t ever tried the waffles). You can choose a set combination of toppings or design your own. You can find this just outside of Helston. Postcode: TR13 0LR. The cafe is situated in a lovely location surrounded by a small plant nursery, a big playground and farm animals that you can feed.

HOOKED ON THE ROCKS

This is where I like to go when I’m feeling a little fancy or if my parents are paying. The menu consists of lots of local fresh seafood. I get the lobster most times but have also had some of their seasonal specials before which have been amazing. You can also bring your dog here if you are eating outside or in the heated awning. There are amazing views of Swanpool beach/ Falmouth bay whilst you eat.

INDIDOG

I always take friends or family here for breakfast when they are visiting Cornwall. It is found in Falmouth. Postcode: TR11 3AT. I’ve only ever had breakfast/brunch here so I can’t comment on their dinner menu. The biggest selling point here is the view whilst you eat. The restaurant has a huge glass window with a view of all of Falmouth harbour. During the summer you can also sit outside which is great. I definitely recommend the eggs Benedict here!

FERRY BOAT INN

This is a stunning location for a lovely rustic pub with views across the Helford River. Postcode: TR11 5LB. It is the perfect place to stop for a drink or a bite to eat whilst walking around the Helford area. They have a lovely menu with lots of fresh seafood.
