- Take a surf lesson on Kuta Beach
This was very fun but also quite tiring. I did a lesson with a group which was great as I got to meet other people travelling around Bali at the same time as me.
- Spend an afternoon at Potato Head Beach Club
This is an amazing way to wind down after a tiring surf lesson. I even did it on quite a cloudy day and it was still very enjoyable.
- Visit Tegenungan Waterfall
This waterfall was very beautiful, although the queue to have your photo taken here was quite long. There were also some very pretty holy springs for you to take a dip in near the waterfall.
- Have a spa day at Karsa Spa
This spa is so beautiful and so relaxing. There are so many different treatments to choose from. You can reach it with a short taxi ride from Ubud.
- Take a Balinese cooking class
This was a really fun experience and it also meant you could taste lots of local delicacies. Was also a great way to meet other travellers too.
- Visit Monkey Forest
This was a really fun little trip – the monkeys come and jump all over you. Make sure you take a bag that can zip up as they are able to get into your belongings very quickly and you won’t get them back!!
- Take a sunrise hike up Kintamani volcano
This was actually quite a tough hike. It is very steep and there are lots of rocks to scramble over. Make sure you pack suitable shoes for this hike. It is well worth it for the rewarding sunrise once you reach the top. There are also monkeys everywhere here too.
- Visit the Tegallalang Rice Terraces
These rice terraces were really beautiful. They are quite well known for Instagram influencers and this is because there are multiple “frames” and swings around to have your picture with/on.
- Go snorkelling on the Gili Islands
The marine life around the Gili Islands is incredible – I saw so much when snorkelling and diving including sharks and turtles.
- Watch a sunset on Gili T
Did you even go to the Gili Islands if you didn’t get a photo sat on a swing watching the sunset? These swings are everywhere which is great as it means you don’t need to queue for a photo.
