Dublin is a beautiful busy city with plenty to do whilst there. We couldn’t really say no to £40 flights to Dublin from Newquay.
Where to stay
We searched many different options online for an affordable place to stay for two nights. We ended up staying in a Premier Inn in Temple Bar. This was very affordable at £65 a night which we split between the two of us. The location of this hotel is perfect with everything to do within walking distance.

Things to do:
Explore Temple Bar
Temple Bar is an area in central Dublin. It is a very popular tourist area with many pubs all over. It is most famously known for The Temple Bar pub which is a perfect place to sit and sip a Guinness whilst enjoying the live music or Irish dancing.
It’s the perfect spot to get the famous Instagram photo outside the front of the pub with all of the twinkly lights.

Temple Bar pub is very popular and the drink prices in here are not cheap. There are many other pubs and restaurants in the area to discover which are a bit more affordable
Take a walk along the River Liffey
This is a beautiful place to take a walk. There are so many cafes and shops around the river which makes it a perfect place to stop and watch the world go by (aka people watching).
Visit the Guinness Storehouse
The Guinness store house has seven different floors all with different aspects of the making of the beer. You can see how it is made, smell some of the ingredients and taste the beer. You also get a free pint of Guinness at the rooftop bar included in your entry.

Hop on a bus to Howth
If you fancy a break from the busy city then you can hop on a bus from the city to the coastal town of Howth. This bus only takes 50 minutes and costs £2. You can also get the train if you’d rather. There is a beautiful coastal path with lighthouses to see along the way. The town of Howth is also lovely with food markets, fresh seafood and harbour views.

Where to eat/drink:
Nana’s Tea
Now if you are a bubble tea enthusiast like me then you definitely have to stop here. They make the tea in front of you using fresh fruit and they are so delicious.

It is also the most instagrammable bubble tea cafe I have ever been in. All of the walls had been hand painted in bright colours and there was even a swinging chair to sit on and enjoy your bubble tea.

Xi’an Street Food
If you are someone who spends a bit of time on TikTok like myself then you might have seen the TikTok famous salt and pepper spice bags around. We went to check out Xi’an Street Food – one of the many Chinese takeaways serving these bags. This did definitely not disappoint, the portions were huge and the food was delicious. Definitely a place to stop for a quick bite to eat.

Beanhive Coffee
If you’re looking for a spot to enjoy your morning coffee then this is the place for you. They have both indoor and outdoor seating so you can enjoy your coffee in the sunshine in you’re lucky. The best thing about this cafe is their latte art. It is the best latte art I have ever seen. This does not cost anything extra, you just have to be patient and enjoy the surprise art work when your coffee comes (or chai latte if you don’t like coffee like myself).

Big Fan Bao
This is possibly the best Chinese restaurant I’ve ever been to. Another one that we found on TikTok. It is an award winning restaurant recommended by the Michelin Guide. You get given a menu with a tick sheet to select the food you would like and then they gradually come out tapas style. All of the food we had was great but I would definitely recommend the Wagyu cheeseburger dumplings, the pork snowflake dumplings and the “she’s sweet” chicken dish.

Eat in your hotel room
Food and drink can be expensive in a city so sometimes it’s nice to just nip to the supermarket, grab some bits and enjoy them sat in your hotel room watching the tv. A bottle of wine from the supermarket cost the same as a glass of wine in a bar in Dublin!!
